I need to work but have no skills except for nursing that I am unable to perform with my back injury.I need some sort of training but can not afford to pay for college. What can I qualify for?

Hi Judy,
It’s great to hear you want to work! We may be able to help you. Are you currently participating in the Ticket to Work program? If so, one of our service providers, an Employment Network or Vocational Rehabilitation agency may be able to help you find a job where you can use your nursing skills, such as being an advice nurse over the phone. Both offer services to help you explore your work options. If you are not participating in the Ticket to Work program or working with an EN or VR, you can find one using our Find Help tool at or talk to a representative at 1-866-968-7842 (V) or 1-866-833-2967 (TTY).
If you are not participating in Ticket to Work, we suggest you learn more about the program today! If you are age 18 through 64 and receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits because of a disability, you qualify to participate in the Ticket to Work program. To get started, call 1-866-968-7842 (V) or 1-866-833-2967 (TTY) to speak to a Ticket to Work representative.
